CHERRYVILLE FARMS is a 30 acre home/horse facility  located in Santa Fe, Texas.  In addition to breeding miniature horses in Santa Fe, we also have/breed Limousine and Brahman Cattle, Standard Donkeys, Pomeranian Dogs, Spider Monkeys, Peacocks, and John’s favorite, Reptiles!!!

Married in 1971, John & Cindy immediately started numerous breeding programs.  The one prerequisite; we breed only what we love.  Cindy's life long dream was to own a quality horse farm.  We started working with numerous large horses, ranging from draft horses to cutting quarter horses.  Our slogan, “Where Quality is More Than a Word” has always been a firm commitment to the standards we set and strive to maintain.

After moving to Santa Fe, we found the perfect animal.  Cindy saw her first miniature horse in 1982 and we immediately started learning as much as possible about these wonderful little animals.  Raising a family, we were limited on funds and our first mini was an oversized AMHR mare.  Since that time, we have continued to work with the AMHR horses in addition to establishing a herd of very refined, confirmation correct, AMHA horses.

The cornerstone of our breeding program has been CHERRYVILLE’S RIO DE ORO (“RIO”) for over 20 years.  The old man is now having to share his status with the new guy, RHAPSODY'S MAJESTIC REIGN (aka "Majic).

With these studs all being champions in their own right , Cherryville Farms can offer all the qualities judges look for in a show horse.  We are consistently producing winners.

Currently, we are working with the local youth including our grandchildren to raise the consciousness of this wonderful breed. By having our youth exhibit and show these wonderful mini's, we hope to cultivate the next generation of mini lovers. Any local, state or national youth that has a need for support need only to contact us, as we believe this is the future of our breed and hobby. Locally with cooperation of our local 4-H clubs we are trying to develop a program wherein we provide horses for children wishing to show but not able to purchase a horse.  In addition, we will donate a horse to the high point winner.  If you know of any 4-H club in need of a program of this type, please supply us with information.

Probably most important to customers is that we don’t depend on the horse business to provide our family income.  John has built a successful demolition/environmental company in Houston, giving us the ability to always do what is best for our horses AND customers with little regard for the dollars.  We will NEVER let the “bottom line” destroy the reason we started keeping miniatures in the first place.
